5 Ways to Use Styled Stock Photography In Your Business

I get to work with a lot of talented photographers whose images are absolutely stunning so it's only natural their websites look beautiful from the get go! When it came to designing my own site I struggled with how I was going to create an incredible website without any photography of my own! Insert styled stock photography! This was a game-changer for me and allowed me to elevate my brand to another level, making things look extremely professional, well styled and allowed me to have continuity throughout my brand.

Today I want to give you our Top 5 Ways to Using Styled Stock Photography in your business.

1. Website
Your website is one of the first impressions clients receive of your brand. You want to make sure you create a great experience right from that initial visit and set the tone for your website.  Using a beautiful stock image as your hero image on your website versus just your logo or words and type, can provide just that to prospective clients.  If getting custom images done for your site is out of the budget an incredible stock image can do just as good a job if not better in creating a beautiful website.

2. Social Media
I don't know anyone who doesn't struggle regularly with the content they should be posting on their social media platforms.  Having a collection of stock photography can take the guess work out of posting, allowing you to create some amazing visuals across all platforms! From Instagram posts, Facebook cover photos, YouTube channel art, you name it! Bonus! Use that hero image from your website and thread this through your social channels.  Want to know how to take those images and turn them into amazing visuals, check out this tutorial here from Sandra on how to create a Knockout Banner in Adobe Illustrator!

3. Blogging
I think we all know that the magic of blog posts come from the images that accompany them.  Great visuals can pull the reader in and keep them engaged throughout your whole post.  When you aren't a photographer that has your own images to post a stock photograph can jump in to the rescue.  Another important point to note is that your blog post visuals go hand in hand with Pinterest.  It is a given that one of the biggest traffic drivers to blog posts is through Pinterest so having that eye catching image will only help increase page views on your blog.

4. Products (Digital PDF's, E-Books, Flyers, Pamphlets, Business Cards)
When creating products whether digital or print to giveaway as freebies, sell in your shop or have on hand as promotional material, once again stock imagery can elevate your product from boring to wow in one step!

5. Building up to a Launch
What better way to showcase a new website, digi-product, or artwork than on a beautiful styled desktop image where you can actually input your product on a computer monitor or iPad right within the image to show customers exactly what it would look like on their screen.  I don't know about you but I get excited about what is being promoted when I see it showcased on a beautiful desktop.

There are so many options to use stock photography in your business and this only scratches the surface.  And here is a little bonus tip - even if your budget only allows you to purchase one image, when you find amazing stock photography like the images from Her Creative Studio you have the ability to crop, resize, use pieces of each image in so many different ways and just like that you could have multiple images from just one amazing stock photo! All that is asked is that props are not removed or rearranged within the image! On that note if you subscribe to the HCS newsletter you will get a FREE image every month delivered straight to your inbox!

I challenge you to take a look at where you could use stock images in your business and try and implement at least one of the tips above!
