5 Beauty Resolutions to Make This Year

As we enter the third week of 2018, it's time to take a moment and reflect on the resolutions we made and see if we've actually stuck with them. This year, one of my goals was to improve my skin from within and to achieve this I put together a list of beauty resolutions that would (hopefully) get my skin to where I want it. Read on to learn about my 2018 beauty resolutions.

1. Always Take Off My Makeup Before Bed

This is something we can all agree we struggle with at times. Some nights you're just so exhausted that you crash into a deep sleep before even having the chance to remove your makeup. But for those long nights when this happens, I've made an effort to keep a package of makeup wipes by my bed so I literally have no excuse for not taking off my makeup. As one of the most important ways to have healthy skin, this needs to be at the top of my list of resolutions.

2. Embracing My Natural Beauty

I'm always a sucker for the latest beauty trends, but often these leave me looking like a completely different person.. crazy contouring and face baking ring a bell? This year, I really want to enhance more of what I was born with, and so when it comes to beauty trends, I only want to test out ones that actually help accentuate parts of me that I want to accentuate.

3. Regularly Clean My Makeup Brushes

I'm definitely guilty of not washing my makeup brushes enough. This year I've promised to wash them once a week and so far I'm still on track. By not regularly washing our brushes, we're allowing bacteria to form which can cause breakouts and unwanted reactions. Invest in a great brush cleaner, and this resolution is easy to follow.

4. Have Face Mask Monday

Every time I try a face mask I without fail say to myself, "Wow, I need to do this more often." This year I've decided to have face mask Mondays, where I'll come home from work and completely focus on me: light a candle, get into my cozy clothes and treat my skin to a nice new mask. Sounds heavenly right?

5. Drink More Water

Finally, this year I'm determined to drink more water every day in an effort to get my skin under control. While I know water isn't completely the solution, drinking at least eight glasses a day can help rid the body and skin of toxins, which leaves you with a natural glow.
